Cardiologist Care for Agoura Hills and the Conejo Corridor
Agoura Hills sits at the western edge of the Valley where the 101 narrows into the Santa Monica Mountains. A lot of our patients here are runners, cyclists, hikers — people who already pay attention to their heart rate and want a cardiologist who will not dismiss an off reading. If you have a pacemaker or defibrillator, a recent cardiac event, or symptoms that show up only on the climbs, get them looked at.
Heart disease is hard on patients and rougher on the families who watch. The Center for Advanced Cardiac and Vascular Interventions has spent over thirty years and more than 15,000 vascular and cardiac procedures helping Agoura Hills, Oak Park, and Conejo Valley families work through it. Our Agoura Hills cardiologists are about ten minutes east on the 101 in Tarzana — close enough for a same-week appointment, close enough for a second opinion before any procedure.
Find out the cause of your heart condition.
Most Agoura Hills patients open with a cardiac evaluation in the office, then we narrow down. We treat coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, prior heart attacks, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, mitral valve disease and aortic valve disease. We see masters athletes worried about late-onset AFib, executives with a strong family history, and retirees who finally want a real cardiac workup.
Agoura Hills Cardiac Specialists
Our Agoura Hills cardiologists have built a long practice on word-of-mouth from this corner of the Valley. Patients drive in from Old Agoura, Morrison Ranch, Lake Sherwood and across the line into Oak Park and Westlake Village — usually referred by a primary care doctor, a personal trainer who noticed something off, or a neighbor who has been with us for years. The work is honest: we run the tests, we explain what they mean, and we do not push procedures that the evidence does not support.
Be prepared.
West Hills Hospital and Medical Center on Sherman Way is the closest 24-hour ER with cardiac capability for most of Agoura Hills — about fifteen minutes east on the 101. The Santa Monica Mountains trail systems put a lot of riders and hikers a long way from cell service, so if you have known heart disease, ride with a partner and a portable AED at the trailhead. Public AED cabinets are common at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center and around Whizin’s Square.
If you are mid-symptom — chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a heart that will not slow down — dial 911 and head for West Hills. Call our office when you are stable.
An initial visit runs about an hour. We do the physical, take the medical and family history seriously, and go through medications including the supplements people forget to write down. From Agoura Hills, the Tarzana office on Burbank Boulevard is about ten minutes east on the 101, then a short hop off Reseda. We schedule labs the same morning so a Conejo Valley patient is not making a second trip. Bring imaging discs and old ECGs if you have them.
Protect your heart.
Trust Your Heart to Our Expert Care
On average, someone dies of cardiovascular disease (CVD) every 37 seconds in the U.S. There are 2,353 deaths from CVD each day, based on 2017 data.
High blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and smoking are key risk factors for heart disease. About half of Americans (47%) have at least one of these three risk factors.
Agoura Hills sits at the older end of California’s age curve, with a median age well above the county average and a household income that gives most patients a real choice about how they handle a diagnosis. That changes the conversation. We do not pad treatment plans, and we do not push interventions that the data does not back. What we will do is sit down, walk through your imaging line by line, and tell you what we would do if you were our parent. Most of the diagnostics happen in office the same morning, so you go home with answers.
