Need a Trusted Cardiologist to Help You Take Control of Your Heart Health?

Are you searching for a cardiologist close to Whittier?

Our Beverly Hills office is roughly 35 minutes west of Whittier via the CA-60. We hold same-week slots for new chest pain workups, follow-ups from PIH Health Whittier Hospital discharges, and AFib reviews. Routine appointments book within two weeks.

Chest pressure climbing the steps at the Whittier Quad. Shortness of breath halfway through an early morning walk in Whittier Narrows. A pulse that feels off after a long shift at the refineries to the south or one of the warehouses along Whittier Boulevard. Many of our Whittier patients come in for a second opinion in Spanish or English on a recommendation that already came out of PIH Health or Kaiser. Others arrive for pacemaker or defibrillator follow-up.

In Whittier’s Latino-majority households, a parent’s heart diagnosis sets the whole family in motion. Adult kids handle the appointments. A bilingual son or daughter often translates and takes notes. At the Center for Advanced Cardiac and Vascular Interventions we are used to that rhythm. Our cardiologists for Whittier patients bring over thirty years of practice, more than 15,000 cardiac and vascular procedures, and the time to make sure everyone in the room understands what we just said before anyone leaves.

Find out the cause of your heart condition.

Whittier patients usually reach us through one of three doors: a PIH Health primary care doctor caught hypertension or an abnormal EKG, the ER ruled out an acute MI and asked the patient to follow up with cardiology, or an adult child wants their parent re-evaluated after a recent hospitalization. We run the cardiac evaluation in-office and treat coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, post-heart attack care, arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, mitral valve, and aortic valve disease. From Whittier, the CA-60 west to our Beverly Hills office is about 35 minutes outside peak hours.

Whittier Cardiac Specialists

Our Whittier cardiologists care for working families from Uptown Whittier and East Whittier as well as patients flying in from Mexico, Central America, and beyond for specific procedures. Same standard of care for everyone – and we keep up the bilingual support that Southeast LA patients deserve.

Be prepared.

Whittier College, the warehouse facilities along the Imperial Highway corridor, and every gym on Whittier Boulevard should have an AED on the wall. They are inexpensive, easy to use, and they save the lives that happen between collapse and the paramedic showing up.

If you have chest pain right now, or a rapid chaotic heartbeat with breathlessness, call 911. PIH Health Whittier Hospital is the closest ER. Call our office once you are stable and we will book the cardiology follow-up.

A first visit at our Beverly Hills office takes about an hour. We start with a careful physical exam. Then we walk through your medical history in whichever language you are most comfortable speaking. We ask about chest pain, shortness of breath, family heart disease – particularly important because Latino patients carry significantly higher rates of early-onset Type 2 diabetes and hypertension – current medications and adherence. EKG and echo on the first visit are standard. Drive time from Whittier on the 60 west is about 35 minutes outside rush.
